MBA Founder: Nicky Montgomery

Nicky is a highly respected corporate healthcare professional who has worked in healthcare for over 30 years. She has worked for global corporates in the U.K and Ireland as well as Australia.

She grew up during “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland in a seaside town just outside Belfast in North Down which is nicknamed “The Gold Coast” by the locals. It seems uncanny that she ended up settling on the Gold Coast in Queensland. 

“It was a pretty crazy childhood, later in life, I was to realize how dysfunctional the whole political situation in Northern Ireland really was,” said Nicky. “I was diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) aged 33 but when I started looking inward, I realized the society I grew up in was instilled with fear and it had spilled into every area my life.”

“I did not have the tools to look after myself or practice any type of self-care as my life was all about survival. My parents’ generation was post-war, so they were living in survival mode too, it was sink or swim, I picked up really bad habits that nearly cost me my life.”

“Fast forward to the time when I was given 3 months to live, my Dr at the time told me that I wouldn’t see December (it was August) and I definitely wouldn’t see Christmas. I told my doctor I wasn’t ready to die and for the first time in my life I knew things had to change, I had to learn to understand and come to terms with deeply ingrained fears, belief systems, tap into my inner strength, and overcome life traumas, similar to what we are facing now with COVID-19.”

“Even though I had mentors all my life I always felt like there was something missing. I became more and more curious about the mind-body connection, life-balance, and peak performance in both my personal and business life. I took myself back to college to study biopsychology so that I could join the dots and understand “why” mindfulness works and “how”.

About Mind Body Alchemist

We facilitate individuals accessing their parasympathetic nervous system using both ancient teachings and modern-day science. Learning to tap into your own natural built-in calming and anti-anxiety medicine without the use of medication. Ultimately this gives individuals specific tools to enhance mental focus and performance that can be applied both in the workplace and outside in everyday life.

We educate in the bio-psychology of the senses to give our students a better understanding of their own physiological and mindfulness connection.

We provide mentor-ship to individuals and small groups to enhance and upgrade their personal toolkit for better performance both in and out of the workplace.
